Gentle readers,
you may have noticed that afoe was down for a couple of hours on Saturday. This was due to an exceptional and extensive network hardware failure in our provider’s data centre. There have been no changes to our URL configuration.

We don’t do “memes” here at fistful, but this is too cool an idea to pass up. Today apparently is Lurker day, which means readers who never or rarely make comments tell us who they are, where the’re from and what they like (or don’t like) about fistful, etc.

Gentle readers,
we have moved the complete afoe installation to another host over the weekend. As updating nameservers can take up to 72 hours, some readers might experience accessibility problems until Wednesday morning.
As you’re reading this, you’re lucky and not among them.

Which, with apologies to Gershwin, is just to say that posting is likely to be much slower for the next few weeks.

Still problems but we should be able to see our posts and you be able to see your comments right away (though it takes a second longer than usual.)

We’re working on the comment problem. Thanks for your continuing patience as we try to get it sorted out.
Update: Looks like it has something to do with the DBI and DBD::mySQL Perl modules of the Cpanel. My more technically adept colleagues are in touch with our hosting provider. I’m just crossing my fingers and wishing [...]

I just got the idea of starting a politics weblog with a bunch of euros (expats would be ok too.)
Brilliant, eh? Of course I’ve only thought about for five seconds.
Now I just have to find some reasonably smart and not too wingnutty people who’s interested?
