Interesting to hear about a country not much in the media, in Sweden at least. I guess Turkey is still Azerbaijan's biggest backer. What's their position on the election? Are they doing anything to promote democracy in the country? If not, this kind of takes some of the shine off the argument that at Turkey in the EU could be a beacon of democracy in the Middle East.

Neat, isn't it? I was originally going to title the piece with some sort of reference to Magyar Narancs, but I couldn't really get it to fit. The Hungarians got the Turkish word for apple, too. I'm sure there's more, but I'm not deep enough into either language to really know.

narinci inqilab... That's nice. I guess Azeri is not unlike what Turkish would have been like if it weren't for Ataturk. There are so many European and (Perso-)Arabic content words in the formal register, you don't need to know any Turkic to almost understand a piece of xeber.
