The FDP would certainly win my vote if they moved to the left. But yes, their base is more and more limited to being liberal towards rich peoples money. The greens just soaked up all left liberals….. But somehow i just cant get over their idiotic subsidy programs for Solar panels and the like.

For the Liberals to switch over would mean a terrible risk. If the experiment of a coalition of three parties fails, they’d pay dearly at an early election and at the state election in the biggest state in 2010.

In some sense Germany is not a part of Western Europe, but is of the Eastern Europe. Because this problem of red+red impossibility, and the continuing prohibition of KPD looks very infantile today.
