Bush is weak..he should tell Europe,

“Support Iraq and do your share to bring freedom and a better lifestyle, with more openness, to your Islamic neighbors, or …just sit back and watch our next political moves, some of which I CAN ASSURE YOU that you will find even less to your liking than the Iraq affair”.

I believe he would get some help. Especially if they got wind of some major alliance shifts and trade/business deals being concocted near the fringes of Europe that did not involve the EU, or involved some of Europe’s members while circumvented the spirit or rules of operating within the EEC.

His employer, the British Government, for whom the question of whether or not they were aiding and abetting an international crime was of no trivial importance.

Someone who has no legal authority over the matter states that the actions of another sovereign nation “could” be “ruled” illegal. You should take a hint. The invasion went forward so obviously nobody gave a damn what Goldsmith thought.

Is this guy, Goldsmith, the local dog catcher or an attorney general? In Either case he would have about equal athority over Donald Rumsfeld and US war policy so who really cares.

I’m much heartened by hearing our Great Leader of the Free Wurrld making with his speechifying in Europe.

The speeches as they come over on the radio give real encouragement to school leavers with reading difficulties.

I’m reminded of those remarks by the dear Duke of Wellington after reviewing his troops just before some battle: Don’t know what they do to the enemy but, by G*d, they certainly frighten me.

I do soo look forward to Donald Rumsfeld coming round lil ol’ Europe next to tell us all what to do, especially when Britain’s attorney general, Lord Goldsmith, “warned less than two weeks bfore the invasion of Iraq that military action could be ruled illegal . . . ”

Of course, Tony Blair is a man of principal with deep personal convictions who is committed to upholding the rule of law, which is why I hear tell he is going to surrender to the International Criminal Court in the Hague to stand trial as a war criminal.

But probably not.

From the latest Spectator, it seems Pres Bush has no time for Michael Howard, which tends to simplify my voting choices.
