		<description>A great article with lots of terrific insights. Aside from much-discussed population drain and the consequent upward pressure on wages, the author mentioned in passing the misguided policies of Ukrainian central bank. That problems seemes to be yet another overlooked structural flaw in the Ukrainian economy (or rather the thinking of the people, who are supposed to regulate it). 

To accommodate export industries (that are deemed to be the vitally important driver of the overall economy), the Central Bank retains the pegged currency to keep exchange rates artificially low, hence making the Ukrainian steel and foodstuffs more competitive. Since the policy-makers stuck to pegging during the period of high commodity prices, one can expect the policy to continue as a means of alleviating the current duress of steelmakers. The resulting inflation seems to be of little or no concern at all...</description>
