There may be some variations, as in some cases, I’m translating the German title of a work that was originally in a third language. There’s also sometimes variation no matter what–the Hoeg book is Smilla’s Sense of Snow in US editions and Miss Smilla’s Feeling for Snow in UK editions. (The latter is more literal, but less appealing to me.)

I love lists like this. I am a reader who needs guidance occasionally on what to read next. Lists like this point me in directions that I might not go otherwise. I am looking at it though….many of the authors I am familiar with but I am having a hard time translating some of the titles. Anywhere to get the list in English?
