In 1979, Pope John Paul II traveled to his homeland, Poland, a visit that played a role in ending one-party rule. No fear. Bavarians seem to be quite happy with Poland´s short-lived system of 1989: 1/3 of parliament seats are contested in a free election. And while I know at least two SPD loyalists who recently moved down to Bavaria, they´re not going to start a revolution either. Panem & circenses all the way.
