If Spain's economy finds the way back to growth and job creation, I am completely happy with the idea of opening up the recruitment office in Senegal again. What I would like to avoid is people losing their lives in the attempt to reach the Canary island in unseaworthy craft, or risking them in being smuggled in in sealed transit containers.

Hi Charly,

"Should i read this as only allowing highly educated immigrants?"

No, not at all. Simply not institutionalising the practice of regularising migrants who reach the interior of the country (and thus Europe) in an irregular way automatically.
